Stephanie Townsend
Your College Advisor
With over 15 years of teaching experience, and as a former admissions reader for a highly selective university, I bring a unique perspective to the college planning process.
Having evaluated hundreds of college applications, I've gained invaluable insights into what admissions committees look for in applicants. This experience has deeply informed my approach to college counseling.
My educational journey began with my undergraduate studies at Syracuse University, where my passion for learning took root. Following that, I pursued my teacher certification at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA, preparing me for a fulfilling career in education. I’ve had the privilege of teaching in various school settings, both public and private, which has provided me with valuable insights into the academic landscape. Through my teaching experience, and my work as an admissions reader, I came to understand the importance of comprehensive college counseling. This led me to complete the rigorous UCLA College Counseling Program, equipping me with the expertise needed to guide students successfully through the college application process.
After spending time in Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC I returned to Nashville where I was born and raised. I share my life with my husband Ted and our rescue beagle Summit. In my free time I love to travel, play tennis, ski, and spend time with family and friends.
As a college counselor, my goal is to use my unique background and experiences to help you and your child achieve their dreams of higher education. I understand the intricacies and excitement of the college application process and am here to provide guidance, support, and a welcoming presence every step of the way.
Let's embark on this journey together and work towards your goals. I'm eager to get to know you better and assist you in finding the Right Fit college for your child.
